Roscoe was found alone in the country, emaciated and injured. We believe we had found his brother a week earlier; he was already adopted into a great home when Roscoe showed up in almost the same place. Roscoe has a long,oblique fracture of the femur that had already begun mending when we took him to the vet. After lengthy consultation we decided that instead of attempting major orthopedic surgery which would probably still leave him with a limp, we would allow the bone to heal on it's own. Roscoe will need to be confined in a small kennel for the next 3 wks (beginning 9/1) and only out on a leash for potty walks.

He is the sweetest little guy you will ever meet- he has never nipped or shied away during this painful process. He is now on pain meds and a good diet. We expect him to be able to live a wonderful, pain-free life and hope that he will find the perfect person to be his companion.
