Adoption Fees: We strive to have all animals spayed or neutered before they are placed in adoptive homes. Effective February 1, 2010 the adoption fee for dogs starts at $125 which includes the surgery, a microchip, and rabies vaccination, as well as other age-appropriate vacccines. Ritzy Rescue dogs are $200 and Posh Puppies are $250. These are pure-bred or designer dogs many of which are rescued from puppy mill situations.
Exceptions: Sometimes it is not possible to have the spay or neuter surgery completed before placement. In those cases, a $50 - $250 compliance deposit will be taken. That will be a separate check that will be held, unprocessed, until the agreed upon deadline for the surgery. If proof-of-surgery is provided in that time frame, the check or credit card transaction will be destroyed or returned. If proof is not provided, the deposit will be processed and efforts will begin to recover the animal. The deposit, in such cases, will not be returned.
GrandPaws: The Central Valley Rescue Railroad has created a program for our senior citizens. We have a very soft spot in our hearts for our older rescued dogs and cats, and want to help them return to loving homes. If you are over 60 you may adopt designated dogs that are either over 5 years or dogs that we feel would do best in a quieter environment for a reduced adoption fee. Blended breed dogs are $50 and Ritzy dogs are $100. These fees include spay or neuter and appropriate vaccinations. Please contact BJ for more information on GrandPaws. firstname.lastname@example.org
The above information is included in the adoption contract which is signed by all adoptive animal owners. If you have questions, email the person listed as the contact on the animal's web page, or see the "Contact Us" page and email the appropriate party.
Animal Shelters: We support the local shelters and encourage you to also include them in your search for the perfect companion. Please use the following links to view Adoptapet or Petfinder web sites for local shelters:
